Get ahead of the curve! You've completed our Kickstarter class and you're ready to expand your skillset. Or maybe you used to sew years ago and want to get back at it while brushing up on your sewing techniques.

​These classes are designed to take a student's sewing skills to the next level. Each featured project is carefully selected to help students expand their knowledge while creating something fun.

Class size:

  • 2-4 people

 

Cost:

  • $120 for three sessions

  • The cost includes instruction, the use of class machines*, tools, thread and other supplies. (*You may also bring your own machine to use if this is better for you.)

  • Students supply their own fabric (see “Materials required” below)

  • Payment can be made by cash or etransfer to thesewingschoolptbo@gmail.com before the lesson begins

Number of classes:

  • 3 sessions of 2.5-3 hours each

  • usually 3 weeks in a row

Prerequisite:

  • Kickstarter 1 or equivalent

​

Possible Project(s):

  • These classes are project based; projects change to suit the season or the specific learning goals of our students.

  • Past projects have included shaped pillows, aprons, zippered tote bags

 

Skills covered can include:

  • curves and clipping

  • zippers application

  • darts

  • machine buttonholes

  • button application

  • pattern symbols

  • pattern layout

 

Materials required:

  • Students provide their own fabric. When you register will let you know what type of fabric is appropriate, how much you need, and how to prepare it before class begins.

 

Location:

  • Classes are held in The Sewing School studio located in the south end near the Memorial Centre.​
